Found it!

If you ever lose your camera cord, check empty Lands End boxes in your laundry room. Apparently they like to hide there. Here are a few recent pics

Natalie's Extreme Makeover

So I know I said I'd post pictures, but apparently the cord that connects my camera to my computer decided to hide itself. I hate when it does that!

Natalie had her consultation with the plastic surgeon today and it looks like she is going to have to have surgery. Let me see if I can explain what the doctor said...I should have been taking notes. About 6 weeks after conception "gill pockets" begin to form in the body. These go on to become things like your mouth and nose and some just disappear. Natalie's little dimple is one that should have disappeared. Since it didn't, bacteria can get in it and cause infections that can lead to abscesses. It has a name...something like blah blah cleft sinus. (I can't remember the 1st word) The surgery should only take about 20 minutes and is done outpatient. She is scheduled for the end of March. The doctor said it will leave a scar a little bigger than the dimple is now, but in a few years it won't be visible at all. She will have to be put under general anesthetic though. Poor baby.

An apple a day...

Apparently my kids need to eat more apples. We are all about doctors this month! Last week the girls had their 9 month check up and John had his 3 year check up. Here are their stats...

John
height - 37 1/2 inches (40%)
weight - 36 lbs (85%)

Natalie
height - 28 inches (58%)
weight - 18 lb 14 oz (44%)

Rebecca
height - 29 1/4 inches (91%)
weight - 21 lb 8 oz (85%)

John has only grown 1/2 inch and has not gained any weight since his 2 year check up. I didn't realize how big he was for a 2 year old! He is average size for a 3 year old now. Although the boy has been eating like crazy lately, so we may be in for a growth spurt soon. At the appointment I had the doc look at Becca's belly button because it still had some scab remaining from when her cord fell off. The doctor was concerned that it may not have healed properly underneath so she gave us a recommendation to a pediatric surgeon to look at it. I took her this week and he basically just pulled off the scab and that was it. Everything was completely fine. It will be interesting to see how much a scab removal costs! :) While at the check up I also asked the doctor about Natalie's eyes. Every now and then they will go a little crossed, so now we have an appointment with an eye doctor in a few weeks. Then the other day, Natalie's little dimple on her neck started oozing a little. We had asked the doctor about it when she was first born and we were told it was just a little duct that hadn't closed up all the way to the skins surface and not to worry about it unless anything comes out of it. Agh! So now we also have an appointment for Natalie with a plastic surgeon next week. Man! Thank goodness John didn't need any other appointments.

Natalie is standing by herself now. She is still a little shaky, but is obsessed with standing. She will go for like an hour pulling up, letting go, falling down, pulling up, letting go, falling down, over and over. Rebecca will pull up, but then is terrified to get back down. And she hangs on for dear life to whatever she is standing by. You'd think with all the extra padding she has she'd be a little more adventurous. :)

John LOVES everything lately. He is constantly telling me what he loves. He was the hit of Bread Company the other day when he announced to everyone that walked by that he loved orange juice. At dinner last night he told me, "Mmmm. I LOVE bacon. Thank you." He has also started praying for all sorts of things. Every night during prayers we say, "God bless Mommy, Daddy, Natalie, Rebecca, John, and all our friends and family. Amen." Then he adds on things like God bless the closet, or God bless pillow. It's so cute.

We have a new hangout. We have been going to a little train store on Fridays where John can play with huge train displays. He loves it! The girls just sit in their stroller and stare at all the kids playing. Every time we are there a train comes by. It is hysterical to watch every kid there RUN to the window to watch the train. The driver (conductor? engineer?) always waves at the kids.

We had our first parent teacher conference yesterday at John's preschool. He has been doing great. The teacher said he is so cooperative (my son? seriously?) and plays very well with the other kids. She said his language is right on track and he is set to go into the Juniors class next year. Yeah! It is amazing how well behaved he can be for other people and then it is like a switch flips when he is with me. It drives me crazy, but I am glad he is doing so well there. I don't have any pictures today, but hopefully I'll get some up later in the week.

Winter Sports

In an effort to use up John's excess energy, we signed him up for swimming and gymnastics at the Y this winter. This week he had his first classes. At both classes it took him 15 minutes or so to join in, but once he did he loved them. Here are a few pics from his classes.

Wrapping up 2007

Well, we made it through a 3rd Birthday, Christmas, and New Years! December is a very busy month for us. John's birthday was a lot of fun, and lasted quite a while. On his actual birthday we had playgroup at our house so he could celebrate with a bunch of his friends. That night we took him to Build-A-Bear where he made a turtle stuffed animal that he named "Red". I'm not sure why, as there is no red on him, but I guess he can name his new friend anything he likes. That weekend we had a family party at the house too. The next week was Christmas. Wow. Our house looks like Toys R Us exploded in it. And of course, of all the toys and games he received, John's favorite toy to play with is a toy train that the girls got! He is obsessed with it. He is also obsessed with his new Escalade power wheels, but unfortunatly the weather hs been so wet and yucky he hasn't gotten to ride it much. The girls got so many new clothes I don't know how they are going to wear them all! :) They are going to be some stylish babies this winter! I was a bad mommy and didn't take ANY pictures at John's birthday party, and only a few on Christmas, so if you were there and have some cute pics, PLEAE send them my way. I would really appreciate it. Here are a some pictures from the last few weeks.
Natalie wishes everyone a "Merry Freakin' Christmas!"

"Am I supposed to open ALL those presents???"

He kind of looks like a mad politican here, but really I just caught him while he was talking. This is at the train exhibit at the Botanical Gardens. It was so hard to get a picture of him because he didn't want to look away from the trains, and when he did, he didn't want to stop talking about them.

big, cheesy, fake smile "Just take the picture already MOM!

Natlaie - 9 months

Rebecca - 9 months

John really wanted to take a picture with Rebecca, but then he wouldn't look at the camera. Rebecca wasn't very happy about this arrangement.

Not the best picture in terms of exposure, but I love Rebecca's eyes in this pic. They match her dress almost perfectly.
